Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders played in eight games last season as a rookie. He had to work his way up the depth chart. Sanders made his first appearance against the Baltimore Ravens.
Throughout the course of the season, he struggled. Sanders only completed 56.6% of his passes for 1,400 yards, seven touchdowns, and 10 interceptions. He also rushed for 169 yards on 21 carries and one touchdown, along with averaging 8.0 yards per rush.
It is not known who the Browns starting quarterback will be in 2026 under new head coach Todd Monken. Sanders will most likely have to compete with Deshaun Watson and Dillon Gabriel for the starting job. There is also a chance Cleveland could maybe draft another quarterback during the 2026 NFL Draft as well.
Sanders has been known for sending out messages on Twitter time and time again. On Friday, he posted another message to his fanbase. Shedeur said, "Learn to value the opinions of those who care about you, not the noise from everyone else." This is an interesting time for him to tweet this out.
Could this mean that he could be hearing the outside noise of the Browns potentially drafting another quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft? Is Watson going to be the favorite to win the job in camp even though he didn't play a single snap in 2025? These are some things that the Browns organization will have to answer as the offseason moves on.
Sanders is only 24 years old and was a fifth-round selection in the 2025 NFL Draft from the Colorado Buffaloes. There is no doubt that he has a lot of haters. Shedeur can only control what he can control. If the Browns do not draft a quarterback in the 2026 NFL Draft, then Sanders or Watson could very well be the starting quarterback in 2026.
