An NFL legend has announced he is retiring as a member of the New Orleans Saints.

Legendary tight end Jimmy Graham plans to retire as a Saint, per John Deshazier.

Graham played 12 seasons in the NFL, including the first five years of his career with the Saints and another stint with the black and gold in 2023.

The legendary NFL tight end is eighth all-time in receiving yards for his position and fourth all-time in touchdowns. Graham is better known for his early years with New Orleans and his special connection with Drew Brees, but he played at an elite level as a member of the Seattle Seahawks and the Green Bay Packers. The 12-year veteran played two years with the Chicago Bears from 2020-2021 before sitting out a year in 2022.

Graham played his final season with the Saints in 2023, finishing with 6 receptions for 39 yards and 4 touchdowns. The 12-year NFL superstar finishes his career with five Pro Bowls and as a two-time All-Pro.

But the most interesting facts about Graham may have come after his NFL journey. Shortly after the 2023 season ended, Graham announced The Arctic Challenge. Graham and a crew trained for 18 months before setting sail on July 4th, 2025, to row over 584 nautical miles across the Arctic Ocean.

Graham and his crew weathered the obstacles that faced them, including freezing rain and an absence of sunlight for 72 hours, beating the record by five days. The crew completed the challenge in 10 days, breaking the previous record of 15 days set in 2023.

The former All-Pro tight end has completed many feats in his career. His time in New Orleans kickstarted what would be a legendary career, and Graham has always mentioned his appreciation for the city and the Saints. Now that his playing career is over, Graham wants it to be as a member of the black and gold.
