One of the NFL’s most legendary wide receivers does not have a particularly high opinion of Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill.
In a recent interview with David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel, Randy Moss was asked where he rates Hill in the pantheon of receivers. Moss was willing to give Hill a top five ranking among current receivers, but not much more than that.
“He’s nowhere all-time,” Moss said. “Where is he at in today’s game? Tyreek Hill is probably top five. I put him top five.”
That is not exactly a compliment for someone with over 11,000 career receiving yards. That Moss is not even willing to consider Hill among the all-time greats could certainly be seen as fairly disrespectful.
The assessment comes with Hill coming off one of the worst seasons of his career. He caught 81 passes for 959 yards and six touchdowns, in part because of Tua Tagovailoa’s injury. That has certainly hurt the wide receiver’s stock.
Moss is recovering from a bout with cancer and will be back on ESPN this fall. Perhaps Hill will be able to change Moss’ opinion with some of his play.
