At his Wednesday morning media session, Mike McDaniel said that backup center and guard Liam Eichenberg will be out for weeks with his current injury. When asked how many weeks, McDaniel said he wouldn’t put a timeline on his return.
There is no word as to what his injury is at this time. Miami placed Liam on PUP yesterday so he will be unable to practice until he is removed from that list.
Mike McDaniel says Liam Eichenberg will be out “weeks” after being put on PUP. Certainly adds context to the signing of Daniel Brunskill.

To fill the void of not having Eichenberg practice, Miami signed veteran center/guard Daniel Brunskill.
Brunskill is 31 years old and went undrafted in 2017. He has previously played for the Atlanta Falcons, Tennessee Titans, and San Francisco 49ers.
He has played in 92 games, starting 66 of them, and he has actually had some snaps in games at offensive tackle as well and offers valuable position flexibility.
In 2023 he played in and started 14 games for the Titans. Last year he started 10 games for the Titans as well.
His PFF numbers were sub 55 in overall grade, pass block grade, and run block grade last season.
He was only called for three penalties in 684 snaps though.
In Miami, Brunskill will have a good chance to stick around and win a backup job, especially if Liam is out for an extended period of time. Miami’s depth at both center and guard is razor thin, and any experienced backup would be a huge help.
