The Detroit Lions held a 7-0 lead over the Green Bay Packers on Thursday night as they battled for the chance to increase their division lead in the NFC North.

The Lions were without several star players on defense including Aidan Hutchinson, Malcolm Rodriguez, Alex Anzalone and others heading into the game.

Injuries have not precluded the Lions from winning games as defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn and his players have adjusted.

The Lions' duo of Alim McNeill and DJ Reader on the interior of the defensive line was praised as one of the top run stuffing duos in the NFL according to Amazon Prime announcer Kirk Herbstreit on Thursday.

Unfortunately for Lions fans, McNeill was forced to leave the playing field and spent time in the medical tent.

According to the Prime broadcast team, McNeill was taken to the Lions' locker room for a concussion related evaluation.

He and his partner on the defensive line, Reader, both left the game as the Lions' adaptive and successful defense attempted to hang onto the lead in Motown.

Detroit got on the board on a David Montgomery touchdown run early in the fourth quarter as the man nicknamed 'Knuckles' took it to the house vs. the Packers.

McNeill returned to the game as the clock ticked under the 15-minute mark of the second quarter as the Lions recovered a Green Bay fumble.
