Aidan Hutchinson and the Detroit Lions secured their fourth straight win, moving to 4-1 on the 2025 NFL season after taking down the Joe Burrow-less Cincinnati Bengals 37-24 in Week 5. While the Lions were able to dominate the game, Hutchinson and their defensive line struggled to bring down quarterback Jake Browning until the final quarter, recording two sacks, one of which went for a safety.
Entering the Week 5 matchup, Hutchinson had totaled eight tackles and four sacks, recording at least one in each of the previous three games. With 11:52 left in the fourth quarter against Cincinnati, he notched his first sack of the day, and his fifth of the season, bringing down Browning for a seven-yard loss.
In doing so, Hutchinson has now recorded a sack in four straight games, tying Detroit’s single-season record. He joins former Lions defensive end Robert Porcher, who recorded a sack in four consecutive games on two occasions during the 1999 season.
"@Lions EDGE @aidanhutch97 has produced 1.0 sack in four-straight games," Detroit Lions PR wrote on X. "This ties the franchise single-season record."

Not only does he hold the Lions' single-season record, Hutchinson also holds the franchise record for most consecutive games with a sack, with five straight spanning the 2023 and 2024 seasons.
Hutchinson is off to a strong start to begin the new season, especially coming off a broken left tibia and fibula he suffered last year against the Dallas Cowboys. Up next for the Lions, a Week 6 battle with Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs on "Sunday Night Football."
