Detroit Lions wide receiver Jameson Williams has put together another strong season in the NFL. The 24-year-old speedster is now in his fourth year in the league and continues to show steady growth.

Through his first 13 appearances, Williams has hauled in 45 receptions on 72 targets for 802 yards and six touchdowns. He remains on pace for a second consecutive 1,000-yard season, making Detroit’s offseason decision to secure him long term look wise. Williams signed a three-year contract extension worth up to $83 million, keeping him under contract through the 2029 season.

Williams stretches defenses with elite speed, forcing opponents to account for his deep-threat presence, which opens up opportunities for teammates underneath. His reliable hands and improved route running make him one of Detroit’s most dangerous offensive weapons.

Williams and the Lions will head to Los Angeles to face the Rams on Sunday, a crucial game that will have playoff implications. However, ahead of the game, Williams received a prestigious award for his efforts off the field.

The NFL Players Association named Williams the Week 15 Community MVP after he donated 250 new winter coats to students at DBG Detroit, a youth organization that offers mentorship, educational support and resources to local kids.

“I’m excited to be selected as the NFLPA Community MVP. I do things in the communities that I am connected to because it is important to me that young people are able to see they can make something of themselves with hard work too,” Williams said (via NFLPA). “It also is important to me to help families that are less fortunate because you never know how much of a difference that one thing I do might help them.”

The Lions took to social media to share the good news for one of the team’s top receivers, adding that supporters should also vote him for the Pro Bowl.

“Shoutout to @bigsgjamo for winning the @NFLPA’s Week 15 Community MVP! 1 RT = 1 #ProBowlVote,” the team wrote on X.

Despite his production, Williams has yet to earn a Pro Bowl selection, something he hopes to change soon.

Drafted by Detroit in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft, he has steadily developed into a key offensive weapon. If the Lions make a playoff run, Williams will be central to their success.

The Lions (8-5) enter Sunday's game one game behind the San Francisco 49ers and Chicago Bears for the final two NFC wild-card spots. Detroit visits the Rams (10-3) at 4:25 p.m. ET on Fox.
