Dan Campbell and the Detroit Lions secured their fourth straight win in Week 5 of the 2025 NFL season, taking down Jake Browning and the Cincinnati Bengals 37-24 on Sunday. Lions quarterback Jared Goff had a nice day, throwing for 258 yards and three touchdowns, but also had a fumble lost, his first of the year.
Campbell has put together a solid defense through the first five weeks, allowing only 298.8 yards per game, good for eighth in the NFL. Cornerback Terrion Arnold, the Lions' first-round pick in the 2024 draft, has been a key piece for Detroit. Through five games this season, Arnold has tallied 22 total tackles and four passes defended, while covering the likes of Ja'Marr Chase and Zay Flowers.
However, against the Bengals, Arnold suffered a shoulder injury that will keep him out in Week 6 and beyond. On Monday, Campbell addressed the concern with Arnold, claiming his top cornerback will be "out for a while."
"I thought he was very competitive," Campbell said. "I thought he was calm. I thought he was cool. And I thought this was one of the better games he's played in a while. Thought it was really good. You know, we put a lot on him and I thought he answered the bell. Unfortunately, he's going to be out for a while. He's going to be out for a long time."
Campbell also noted that he wasn't sure if Arnold would be out for the remainder of the season.

Not only will Arnold be out indefinitely, but fellow Detroit cornerback D.J. Reed will also be out for a while with a hamstring issue. Following the update from Campbell, Arnold broke his silence on the injury.
"God doesn’t make mistakes I’ll be back," Arnold wrote on X.
Campbell and the Lions will look for their fifth win of the season when they take on Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 6's edition of "Sunday Night Football."
