The Detroit Lions have entered the picture for a notable cornerback move before the trade deadline. Their interest could add another layer to a developing situation in Pittsburgh.

According to NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Lions are among several teams that have started asking about Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Joey Porter Jr. The report puts Detroit in the mix for a player who could bring more steel to its defense.

The Steelers are prepared to consider trade proposals for the fourth-year cornerback. However, Pittsburgh reportedly wants a significant return before agreeing to move him.

There is no indication yet that Detroit has submitted an offer or that talks have reached an advanced stage. However, the inquiry alone shows the Lions are exploring potential additions at cornerback.
