Since last Sunday's win over the Chicago Bears, everyone has been keeping their eyes on the injury situation with Detroit Lions edge rusher Marcus Davenport. The Lions and Davenport have been very tight-lipped about it. On Saturday, we got our first insight into the injury.

Marcus Davenport's injury is not season-ending

Lions head coach Dan Campbell told local media that Davenport is unlikely to play against the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night, but the injury is not a season-ending one. When asked if there was a timetable for his return, Campbell couldn't give one at that time. He said they would know that either later Saturday or on Sunday.

Davenport got hurt sacking Caleb Williams, and after the game, he did not seem like a guy who felt his season was over. He seemed in good spirits and had some fun answering questions. He was icing his chest and shoulder area. On Friday, he was seen in the locker room wearing a sling. We'll see where things go from here, but it's a positive update with it not being season-ending.

Sione Vaki and Trevor Nowaske will return on Monday

Both players have yet to play this season, as Vaki has been dealing with a hamstring injury and Nowaske has been dealing with an elbow injury. Both guys returned to practice last week in limited capacities, but did not play. This week, they've been full practices all week and will likely be removed from the injury designations altogether. Campbell also alluded to them both playing Monday, but also alluded to the idea that they may get worked back in a little slowly. This is a big plus for the special teams unit, and Nowaske adds another pass rusher to the mix as well.

Josh Paschal update

Paschal can come back after Week 4, but Campbell didn't have any update on whether or not they would start his 21-day clock immediately. He did say that Paschal keeps improving injury-wise every day. So we'll see what happens when that time comes.
