Lions HC Dan Campbell has perfect response to ticket question
Detroit Lions HC Dan Campbell Orlando Ramirez-USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Lions are an exciting, successful team for the first time in what feels like forever. They are 10-4 and in position to clinch the NFC North for the first time since 1993. Accordingly, the fan interest in the team has spiked, and so has the demand for tickets. The team has taken note and increased ticket prices for the 2024-25 campaign.

That led a columnist to ask Lions head coach Dan Campbell about the change to ticket prices.

Of course, Campbell has nothing to do with the prices charged for tickets. He just coaches the team. He had a perfect response.

“Don’t put me in that spot. I’m not in marketing, I don’t deal with ticket prices. I’m just trying to win games,” Campbell said.

That’s a very unfair question to ask the coach. The reporter was barking up the wrong tree. But Campbell handled the question perfectly. What he’s trying to do is win games. And he’s doing that quite well.

Detroit has secured its second winning season in a row under Campbell. They also are fifth in the league in points scored for the second straight year. The fans in Detroit are liking what they’re seeing.
