The Detroit Lions entered Sunday’s game against the Pittsburgh Steelers with their playoff hopes still alive, and this has been thanks in large part to another strong season from star quarterback Jared Goff. The four-time Pro Bowler headed into Sunday’s contest with 314-of-453 completed passes (69.3%) for 3,672 yards, 29 touchdowns and just five interceptions in 14 games played.

The Lions have their work cut out for them, though. They currently have an 8-6 record and are in dire need of a win to remain in playoff contention. A loss against the Steelers will serve as a devastating blow to their postseason hopes with two games remaining in the campaign.

Goff cannot be faulted for his play for the Lions this season. He has been one of the best players on the roster in 2025, as the former Most Improved Player winner continues to be one of the top QBs in the game.

On Sunday, Goff further etched himself in Lions franchise history with another career milestone. The team took to social media to announce the 31-year-old's latest feat.

“. @Lions QB @JaredGoff16 is the first player in franchise history to throw for 30+ TDs in three different seasons,” the Lions posted on X.

Goff marked this historic achievement just before halftime against the Steelers, finding wide receiver Isacc TeSlaa for a 20-yard touchdown.

On top of that, Goff was also able to tie the franchise record for most consecutive games with a TD pass. He got up to 21 straight games on Sunday.

It has been a tightly contested affair at Ford Field. As of writing, the Lions and Steelers are tied 10-10 at halftime.
