The Detroit Lions have been one of the most dominant teams of the 2024 NFL season, currently sitting at 14-2.

Detroit defeated the San Francisco 49ers in Week 17, 40-34. With the "Monday Night Football" win over the NFC opponent, the Lions made NFL history.

The Lions' latest victory is their fifth game of the season with 40 or more points and zero turnovers, marking the most games of that kind in league history.

The NFL's official social media account posted the news with the caption, "The Lions make history with a truly insane stat."

The Lions have one of the most explosive offenses in the NFL, led by quarterback Jared Goff. In the win over the 49ers, Goff recorded three touchdowns and 303 yards, completing 26-of-34 pass attempts.

He found three different receivers for a touchdown in Week 17: Amon-Ra St. Brown, Sam LaPorta and Jameson Williams.

Running back Jahmyr Gibbs also had a phenomenal showing, highlighting the Lions' deep weapons on the offensive end.

Gibbs finished the game with one touchdown and 117 yards on 18 carries.

While the Lions have already clinched a spot in the NFL playoffs, they'll look to add to their win total in Week 18 when they play the Minnesota Vikings

Detroit will be playing its last game of the regular season against their divisional rival on Jan. 5 at 8:20 p.m. ET.
