We don't know much about the Detroit Lions' schedule for the 2025 NFL season yet.
So far, what we've learned is that the Lions won't be taking part in an international game and they also won't take on the Philadelphia Eagles in the first game of the NFL season.
That was a potential date the team had its eyes on, with Amon-Ra St. Brown calling for the opening matchup shortly after the Eagles won the Super Bowl.
It seems he's not the only Lions player who thought the team deserved that matchup.
After it was announced the Dallas Cowboys would be getting that opening matchup against the Eagles, Lions cornerback Terrion Arnold took to social media to share his opinion on this decision from the league.

There is definitely merit to matching the Eagles and Cowboys up in Week 1.
They have a long-standing rivalry as NFC East competitors. They are also both expected to be competing with each other and the Commanders for the top spot in the division in 2025.
However, the game itself isn't nearly as interesting as a matchup between the Eagles and Lions could have been in Week 1.
While the Eagles were working their way to the Super Bowl in 2024, the Cowboys were struggling to a 7-10 record.
Dak Prescott missing nine games surely played a part in their struggles, but they were also only 3-5 with him as their starter.
Meanwhile, the Lions were 15-2 in 2024 despite injuries piling up throughout the year.
They'll be close to 100% again at the start of the 2025 season and that should make them one of the top contenders to the the Eagles' crown.
Luckily, we will still get to see the teams go toe to toe at some point this season, but the Lions feel like they'd have been a more compelling matchup for the Egles to kick off the 2025 NFL season.
