The Detroit Lions announced they have waived CB De’Shawn Rucker with an injury designation.

This move came in correspondence with the Lions signing DL Ben Stille.

Rucker, 23, was a three-star recruit and the 37th-ranked safety in the 2021 class out of Tallahassee, Florida. He committed to Tennessee but transferred to South Florida after three years and signed with the Lions as an undrafted free agent following the 2026 draft.

In his collegiate career, Rucker appeared in 48 games over five years at South Florida and Tennessee. He recorded 114 total tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, one forced fumble and one interception.
