ESPN might be in danger of losing one of its top NFL analysts this offseason.
In 2018, ESPN hired former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky to help out with its football coverage. He quickly worked his way up the ladder, appearing on "Get Up" and "SportsCenter." Eventually, the network made him one of the faces of "NFL Live."
After the 2024 NFL season wrapped up, Orlovsky had what appeared to be a farewell message on "First Take." He made it very clear that he's not sure what's next for his career.
"This is the end of the season for me ... I'm taking a break, won't be on TV for a long time," Orlovsky said. "I just want to say thank you to you guys, Stephen A., Molly, Shannon for a great season. I loved being with you guys. I love you all. You never know what the future holds, but I'm taking a break."
Front Office Sports reported earlier this month that Orlovsky would consider leaving ESPN for an NFL coaching job.
Orlovsky hasn't addressed that report from Front Office Sports, but he did post a cryptic message on social media this Thursday.
"Chase greatness," Orlovsky wrote on X. "Don’t settle. Never remain stagnant. Don’t let them box you in. Don’t let them define you. Don’t let them tell you what you can or can’t do. Do be different. You’ll have to be disliked at some point."
After seeing this message from Orlovsky, NFL fans are convinced that he's done with ESPN. Some people have speculated about him joining the New Orleans Saints' staff.
For what it's worth, Orlovsky was teammates with Kellen Moore in Detroit. Perhaps he'll get his first gig in the Big Easy.
Of course, there's always a possibility Orlovsky signs a new deal with ESPN for the 2025 NFL season.
