NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported that longtime NFL official Wayne Mackie died suddenly on Thursday. He was 62.
Mackie, a head linesman in the NFL for 10 years, worked in eight playoff games, including two conference championship games and Super Bowl 50.

Known as one of the kindest, nicest, most genuine men in football, Mackie was among the NFL's best and served as head linesman for Super Bowl 50.
After retiring from on-field officiating in 2016, Mackie continued to work with the league in the NFL's officiating department.
"Wayne was passionate about the NFL and spent each day making a positive impact on all of us individually and contributing to our collective success," said NFL commissioner Roger Goodell in a statement released by NFL.com. "Those who had the pleasure of knowing Wayne will forever remember his kindness, generosity and genuine spirit he brought to all aspects of his life."
