Brissett started five of the eight games he played for New England in 2024, finishing with 826 passing yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. He had a 59% completion percentage and a 74.2 quarterback rating, taking 18 sacks behind a broken offensive line.
After playing collegiately at NC State, Brissett was selected by New England in the third round (No. 91 overall) of the 2016 NFL Draft. Brissett was traded to the Indianapolis Colts early in his second season, where he would see significant action in place of the injured Andrew Luck.
Brissett played four seasons with the Colts before moving around the league a bit. He spent time with the Miami Dolphins, Cleveland Browns, and the Washington Commanders before returning to New England this past season.
In 87 career games, Brissett has totaled 11,400 passing yards, 53 touchdown passes, and 24 interceptions. He has a 61.1% career completion percentage and a 74.2 career QB rating.
Brissett finding a new home shouldn't come as a surprise. New England agreed to terms with veteran Joshua Dobbs on a two-year contract yesterday, all but ending Brissett's second stint with the team.
Dobbs joins second-year guys Drake Maye and Joe Milton III in New England's quarterback room, essentially replacing Brissett as the veteran in the room. Meanwhile, Brissett is off to Arizona as Kyler Murray's backup.
