It’s been a couple of weeks since the 106th Backyard Brawl, but for those intimately involved in the rivalry, it’s never too late — or early — to brag about a win.

Former Pitt cornerback Jason Pinnock made a bet with former West Virginia wide receiver Bryce Ford-Wheaton before the Backyard Brawl earlier this season, and it resulted in Ford-Wheaton having to don Pitt apparel.

Pinnock documented the moment on Instagram Thursday, showing Ford-Wheaton wearing a Pitt zip-up and hat, while someone held a Pitt t-shirt next to him.

“Imma couple weeks late but… H2P!!”

Pinnock and Ford-Wheaton are both with the New York Giants in the NFL now, with Pinnock serving as a starting cornerback and Ford-Wheaton serving as a reserve wideout, but only BFW has been involved in the Brawl.

And it’s hard to forget Ford-Wheaton’s one game in the matchup.

Ford-Wheaton played well against Pitt in the Brawl, until the end of the fourth quarter. He’s not remembered for his 97 yards and two touchdowns; he’s remembered for the pass that bounced off his hands.

Pitt and West Virginia were tied at 31 with just over three minutes in the fourth quarter when former WVU quarterback JT Daniels took a shotgun snap at the Mountaineers’ 39. He fired a pass to an open Ford-Wheaton, which would’ve converted a first down, but could only watch the football bounce off Ford-Wheaton’s hands and into Devonshire’s.

Devonshire did the rest, racing 56 yards back to the end zone for a game-winning touchdown.

Ford-Wheaton hasn’t recorded any stats for the Giants this season. Pinnock, on the other hand, is in the midst of his second season as a Giants’ starting cornerback. In four games this season, he’s racked up 21 tackles (14 solo), three tackles for loss, three sacks and a pass breakup.

Pinnock has recorded 163 tackles (117 solo), 11 tackles for loss, 6.5 sacks, an interception returned for a touchdown, five forced fumbles, a recovery and 11 pass breakups.
