One anonymous former NFL head coach is bullish on the Bengals' chances to get back on playoff track this fall. Sports Illustrated's John Pluym wrote up the site's Bengals offseason primer and mined the quote.

Cincinnati has not made the playoffs in the past two seasons.

“I believe Joe can get Cincinnati over the hump regardless of what’s going on on the defensive side," The former coach said. "I got a lot of confidence in him. I would not count the Bengals out. If they pick up where they left off, look out.”

Burrow is a steely competitor who surely won't let the defensive contract issues with Trey Hendrickson and Shemar Stewart block his way to a great 2025 season.

ESPN currently gives the Bengals a 58.7% chance to make the 2026 NFL playoffs. That ranks ninth among all teams.
