Los Angeles Chargers Insider Makes Harsh Win-Total Prediction
NFL: Los Angeles Chargers Offseason Workouts Kirby Lee-Imagn Images

As the Los Angeles Chargers prepare for the 2025 NFL season, ESPN beat writer Kris Rhim offers a sobering perspective: “They won’t win double-digit games.”

In 2024, the Chargers achieved an 11–6 record, but only three of those victories were against teams with winning records—two against the Denver Broncos and one against the Cincinnati Bengals. The team benefited from the NFL’s second-easiest schedule, capitalizing on matchups against some of the league’s weaker opponents. However, the 2025 season presents a more formidable slate of games.

“With a much harder schedule and the Chargers roster not much improved from last season, it will be an uphill battle for this team to hit double-digit wins in 2025,” Rhim wrote.

The 2025 Chargers schedule includes nine games against teams that made the playoffs in the previous season. Notably, seven of these challenging matchups are home games, including contests against the Kansas City Chiefs, Philadelphia Eagles, and Minnesota Vikings. The season opener is an international game against the Chiefs in São Paulo, Brazil, setting a high-stakes tone from the outset. Other significant games include a Week 6 matchup against the Miami Dolphins and a Week 16 game against the Dallas Cowboys.

Rhim also pointed out that the Chargers face an uphill battle from their travel schedule, which features a league-high 37,000 miles.

While the team has made some roster additions through the draft, including running back Omarion Hampton and wide receiver Tre Harris, the overall composition of the roster remains largely unchanged. Given the increased difficulty of the schedule and the lack of significant roster improvements, LA may face an uphill battle to replicate or surpass their previous win total.

As the 2025 season unfolds, LA will need to demonstrate resilience and adaptability to navigate a challenging schedule and prove that they can compete at a high level against tougher competition.
