Los Angeles Chargers Justin Herbert Quotes Monty Python In Reference To Finger Injury
Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert suffered a nasty finger injury on Sunday. While it was on his non-throwing hand, the injury was heavily bandaged and had a splint on it. It was an unlucky break for a team that desperately needs the ball to bounce their way. The good news is that Herbert seems to be okay as he used a Monty Python quote when talking about the injury.

Justin Herbert Uses Monty Python Quote In Postgame Interview

It is but a scratch. Just a flesh wound.” He was then asked to clarify whether he was quoting the famous movie or actually commenting on the injury, Herbert said, “That was just a quote.” It is good to see him joking about the injury which indicates that at least for right now, he isn’t too concerned about the injury long term. We will see what information comes out later this week. The good news for the Chargers is the team is going into their bye week which gives Herbery time to get healthy.

A Nice Recovery

It hasn’t always been pretty but the Chargers go into the bye week 2-2 after starting the season 0-2. There are definitely things to work on but the team is not out of it by any means. It was also nice to see a resurgent defensive performance from Khalil Mack. If he is able to dominate like he has in the past, it will be a big boost to this team. While the early bye week can hurt teams, I think it could be good for the Chargers in the long run.

Justin Herbert had the room chuckling with the Monty Python quote. Hopefully, the finger injury is something he can manage and he can continue to lead this high-powered offense throughout the season.
