Los Angeles Chargers Receive Devastating Report On Justin Herbert’s Injury Timeline; Fans React
Gary A. Vasquez-USA TODAY Sports

Los Angeles Chargers fans reacted to a devastating injury update for the team and quarterback Justin Herbert Sunday evening. Herbert was ruled out of the Chargers game for a hand injury he sustained in the middle of the second quarter during their game against the Denver Broncos.

The Broncos would go on to defeat the Chargers 24-7 after Easton Stick came in to replace Herbert for the rest of the game. The Chargers’ playoff chances took a big hit after the loss, as the team has a 5-8 record heading into Week 15.

The biggest obstacle to the Chargers playoff path is Herbert’s injury status. And it doesn’t look good Sunday evening. According to Ian Rapoport with the NFL Network, Chargers head coach Branon Staley said Herbert was diagnosed with a fractured index finger on his right (throwing) hand.

Because a finger fracture takes anywhere from six to eight weeks to heal, it’s unlikely for Herbert to return this season.
