Los Angeles Chargers Secure Talented TE to Big $14 Million Deal
Matt Kartozian-USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Chargers have begun making big moves to improve their roster as free agency opened. While other teams made splashes by landing top talent across the board, the Chargers have been rather quiet throughout this period.

However, Jim Harbaugh and the Chargers front office aren’t just sitting on their thumbs while their opponents continue to strengthen their teams.

They have already begun making moves towards some of the more underrated players who, in their opinion, can help the team become a tough contender in an AFC West that has a Patrick Mahomes-led Kansas City Chiefs.

Los Angeles Chargers secure Will Dissly from Seattle Seahawks for a reasonable contract

Jordan Schultz of Bleacher Report broke the story of Will Dissly leaving the Seattle Seahawks to jump conferences and play for Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers:

Dissly isn’t the most outstanding TE in the NFL. Compared to players like Travis Kelce and George Kittle, he isn’t the game-changing tight end. Through his six years in the NFL, he’s only notched a total of 1421 receiving yards and 13 receiving touchdowns.

However, he’s always been a reliable outlet for Pete Carroll’s offense. If given the right opportunities, it wouldn’t be strange to see Will Dissly complete at least 500 receiving yards with a talented QB like Justin Herbert ready to throw to him.

NFL GM believes the Chargers will send one star to the Detroit Lions

While the Los Angeles Chargers are in the business of winning football games, the salary cap will require the front office to let go of one of their star defenders to a team that is on the rise.

According to Charger Report’s Ricardo Sandoval, they would send either Khalil Mack or Joey Bosa to the Detroit Lions to create some much-needed cap space for Harbaugh’s rebuilding project.

Both Bosa and Mack have been stellar pass rushers for the Chargers, but they cannot afford to keep both of them without gutting the rest of the team. They will likely shop one of the two around to meet cap space requirements.
