Louis Riddick Has Prediction That Will Make Detroit Lions Fans Happy
Junfu Han / USA TODAY NETWORK

Louis Riddick is a fan of what the Detroit Lions are looking like going into 2023. They enter as the favorites in the NFC North now that Aaron Rodgers is gone from the division and the Bears and Vikings don’t seem to be quite ready to compete. The defense is much improved and the offensive line is one of the best in the league. Riddick had a prediction for how the 2023 season would go for Detroit and it should make fans happy.

Louis Riddick On The Detroit Lions

Riddick came on ESPN’s Get Up and praised the Lions for how they have constructed their team.

“I believe that Detroit is poised to make a huge, huge leap this year and be a major, major player in the postseason. And one of the primary reasons is because I believe … Jared Goff has found the [best] situation for him now.

“I think he is going to take another step this year, and you’re going to see it manifest itself in them being in the NFC title game.”

You read that right. Riddick thinks the Lions will be in the NFC Championship Game in 2023. For a franchise that has seen a lot of heartbreak over the years, this would be a huge win.

Realistic Or No?

Anything in the NFC is realistic. The conference is weak and the Lions have some elite units. The aforementioned offensive line is a force to be reckoned with. Their play gives Jared Goff a clean pocket to throw from and with rookies Sam LaPorta and Jahmyr Gibbs, there is no shortage of firepower. The defense also has been remade with the secondary getting a complete makeover which should help their biggest weakness from last year.

Louis Riddick is definitely on the Detroit Lions bandwagon. I would expect that as the season gets closer, the Lions become a trendy pick for the NFC. They have constructed a great team and now it is time to show that they can win the division crown.
