Remember when ESPN analyst, Louis Riddick, said the Chicago Bears were winning the Super Bowl in 2018 on Get Up? He was drastically wrong then and he is superbly wrong now. The Bears aren’t going to win much in 2022 but are they the worst team in the NFL? No.

On ESPN, Louis Riddick ripped into the Chicago Bears. He said the Bears will be the worst team in the NFL this season, adding to what ESPN’s Football Power Index predicted.

Louis Riddick Making Bad Bears Takes Again

During the ‘Right or Wrong’ segment on Get Up , Riddick answered that the Chicago Bears will be the worst team in the NFL and he slammed quarterback Justin Fields during another segment.

Riddick says this could be an ugly year for Justin Fields and that the Bears didn’t get better offensively during the offseason. Furthermore, he ripped into Fields’ statement that the Bears aren’t ready to play now. Since it’s the middle of June, of course, they aren’t ready to play now!

What’s A Realistic Expectation For The Bears?

The fact of the matter is the Chicago Bears didn’t get loads better on offense this offseason. They drafted a receiver that could play a pivotal role in the Bears’ offense in Velus Jones Jr. But Darnell Mooney is entering his third season and should primarily take over as the number one option for Justin Fields.

GM Ryan Poles added plenty of help to the offensive line, something he is uniquely familiar with and Matt Eberflus is a defense-oriented coach. Coming from the Rod Marinelli coaching tree, who recently visited Halas Hall, Eberflus should have the 2022 Bears back in the defensive spotlight according to former Bears’ LB, Brian Urlacher.

The Bears could win four or five games in 2022. But that won’t make them the worst team in the NFL. Ideally, Chicago would hover around .500 and finish third in the NFC North, thank God for the Detroit Lions right?

The Team Isn’t All Bad Coming Out Of Halas Hall

Six wins aren’t outside the realm of possibilities when it comes to the Chicago Bears schedule. We can pencil in two wins over Detroit and one over Minnesota at home.

That’s already three wins. The Bears also play the Commanders and Dolphins at home, which could be two, albeit hard-fought, wins.

If we tack on a close victory over the Jets in New York, which is quite feasible, that brings us to six wins. The likelihood of beating the Packers, Patriots, Cowboys, and Bills is quite low.

But Chicago also hosts the Houston Texans in week two and they have been a mess since Deshaun Watson’s unappealing drama began.

The Chicago Bears could beat the Texans leading them to a seven-win season in 2022. The worst team in the NFL according to Louis Riddick? I think not. Maybe he should remember the Texans exist before spouting off more insane takes about the Bears.
