Mac Jones got served a pair of fines for separate hits in last week's 22-18 loss to the Bengals. One came for his low block on Eli Apple with around six minutes left in the game and the other for a hit on BJ Hill following Rhamondre Stevenson's fumble.
The Apple block got bumped up a bit to $13,367, and the BJ Hill hit cost Jones $10,609.
Apple had firm comments on his displeasure with the play.
“He had a b******* explanation," Apple said this week. "He knew what he was doing. He had his eye on my knee and he was trying to dive at it. You can tell. I’ve never had that happen before with a QB. I’ve never even seen it before.”
Cincinnati escaped the chippy game with a win and no casualties following the illegal plays.
