Madden NFL 23 simulation predicts Cowboys QB Dak Prescott will win MVP

Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott had a career year last season, tossing 37 touchdown passes. Perhaps the only way to top that would be winning his first MVP. A Yahoo! Sports Madden NFL 23 simulation predicts he will do just that.

For the past five years, Yahoo! Sports has been running a simulation of the Madden video game to predict results for the NFL season. Its most recent simulation predicted Prescott will win his first MVP and lead Dallas to the NFC's best record. The simulation also predicted Prescott will throw 57 TD passes and top 5,000 yards passing. Hall of Famer Peyton Manning holds the NFL record for TD passes in a season with 55.

NBC Sports, meanwhile, said Prescott has the 10th-best odds to win MVP.

Yahoo! Sports simulations are all over the board. In 2019, the Yahoo! Sports' Madden simulation predicted the Chiefs would win the Super Bowl. That proved correct. In 2020, it predicted quarterback Nick Foles would lead the Bears to their second Super Bowl, but Chicago missed the playoffs as Foles had a 2-5 record as a starter. He missed most of the season with a hip injury.  Prescott must deal with a depleted receiving corps, at least early in the season. In the offseason, Amari Cooper was traded to the Browns, and Michael Gallup and James Washington will miss time with injuries.
