Magic 8 Ball predictions for 2025 Buffalo Bills

This year, we’re using an online version of the Magic 8 Ball to answer a few questions about the Buffalo Bills.

Read on to find out if 2025 will be a Super Bowl year, and more.

Will Josh Allen repeat as NFL MVP?

Magic 8 Ball says: As I see it.

Hall of Fame running back Jim Brown became the first player to win back-to-back MVP awards in 1957 and 1958. Steelers quarterback Aaron Rodgers last accomplished the feat in 2020 and 2021, so winning it again would put Allen in pretty good company.

Of course, some believe last year’s trophy should have gone to Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, who won the award in 2019 and 2023. Jackson shined in 2024, finishing as the league’s sixth-leading passer with a career-high 4,172 yards, 41 touchdowns and only four interceptions.

Allen finished as the league’s 12th-leading passer with 3,731 yards, 28 touchdowns and six interceptions. He did rush for 12 scores, eight more than Jackson, but Jackson ran for 384 more yards (915) than Allen (531).

Jackson currently owns the best odds for the award (+550) on ESPN BET, with Allen tied for second with Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow (+600).

Will James Cook get a new contract?

Magic 8 Ball says: Don’t count on it.

And don’t count on seeing the 25-year-old running back on the field until he does. Cook signed a four-year, $5.8M contract with the Bills in 2022 and hasn’t been shy about his desire to sign an extension that would make him one of the league’s highest-paid running backs at $15M per year.

For his part, Cook appears optimistic that a deal will be reached.

"Everything is a business, so no hard feelings," Cook told reporters at Buffalo’s mandatory minicamp, via the team’s website. "Everything gonna work how it's supposed to work."

A second-round pick in 2022, Cook rushed for only two touchdowns in each of his first two seasons, but ran for 16 scores to lead the league with Detroit’s Jahmyr Gibbs and Baltimore’s Derrick Henry.

Unfortunately, the team has already spent a lot of money on extensions for Allen ($330M), defensive end Greg Rousseau ($80M), wide receiver Khalil Shakir ($53M) and linebacker Terrel Bernard ($42M).

That could be a problem for Cook, considering the Bills only have a reported $95,321 in cap space available for 2025, less than any NFL team.

Will the Bills make it to Super Bowl LX?

Magic 8 Ball says: It is decidedly so.

First, it told us to “concentrate and ask again.” We did, and got the answer Bills fans have been waiting to hear since 1994: “It is decidedly so.” That year, the Bills made their fourth consecutive appearance in the big game, only to lose 30-13 to the Dallas Cowboys.

Since then, the team has made 11 playoff appearances, with the last seven coming under head coach Sean McDermott, who has taken the team to two AFC Championship games, losing both to Kansas City.

Buffalo and Baltimore currently share the second-best odds (+325) to win next year’s conference title, trailing only the Chiefs in the AFC. Still, according to the Magic 8 Ball, Bills fans should start making plans to visit Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California, next February.
