'Mamba Mentality'? Chiefs Owner's Daughter Takes Heat for Kobe Photos
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

Gracie Hunt, the daughter of Kansas City Chiefs owner Clark Hunt, fancies herself as a sort of IG model and influencer. And indeed, she has a large following on social media. ... so some "influence'' obviously exists.

So is there anything wrong with the daughter of a billionaire NFL owner posing for a series of semi-provocative Kobe Bryant-themed social media photos?

"Mindset is everything … make it Mamba," Gracie wrote on social media.

The late Bryant was an NBA and Los Angeles Lakers superstar who, following his tragic death, has become even more iconic, in particular for his approach to basketball and to life ... all playing on one of his nicknames as the "Mamba.''

Maybe that's fair game. Maybe Ms. Hunt truly does embrace some special mindset. But there are critics in the audience who, as the posts go viral - as so many of Gracie's posts do - who wonder whether the photos are appropriate, who wonder if she is sort of just surfing off of Bryant's name and fame, and who wonder if there isn't something a billionaire's daughter could be doing that might be more productive.

Of course, it's her time. It's her money. It's her IG account. And hey, maybe it really is her mindset, too.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs - the defending Super Bowl champions - are surely growing accustomed to sidebar stories that have nothing to do with football. The Chiefs were upset on Sunday, dropping to 6-2 on the season after losing to the lowly Broncos in snowy Denver. ... with the CBS telecast mentioning all-too-frequently how entertainer Taylor Swift was not in attendance for Chiefs boyfriend Travis Kelce's performance.
