Man Who Prank Called Shedeur Sanders Releases Statement

Looks like it didn't take long for the NFL to get to the bottom of Shedeur Sanders' draft day prank call.

After announcing it would be launching an investigation into the situation, Jax Ulbrich, son of Atlanta Falcons defensive coordinator former player, Jeff Ulbrich, came forward and issued an apology to the Browns QB via his Instagram Story.

"On Friday night I made a tremendous mistake," Ulbrich began. "[Shedeur], what I did was completely inexcusable, embarrassing, and shameful. I'm so sorry I took away from your moment, it was selfish and childish."

"I could never imagine getting ready to celebrate one of the greatest moments of your life and I made a terrible mistake and messed up that moment," he continued. "Thank you for accepting my call earlier today, I hope you can find it in your heart to forgive me. @shedeursanders."

As some media members have speculated, the call had to be from someone in close proximity to an NFL franchise because they're the ones with access to prospects' personal numbers in these situations.

You can't help but wonder what Shedeur might've said on that phone call. But the least Ulbrich could've done in his public-facing apology was spell Sanders' name right.

Regardless, it sounds like Shedeur has already put the situation behind him and his NFL dream was still able to come true.

And who knows... maybe this will be the beginning of a beautiful rivalry between the rookie QB and his dad's former team.
