Marcus Peters expected to be released by Raiders
Kirthmon F. Dozier / USA TODAY NETWORK

It's safe to say the Las Vegas Raiders have had enough of the half-effort Marcus Peters has been giving all year.

Later in the offseason, the Raiders signed the Oakland, California native to help bolster the second and possibly find a veteran that still has a bit of juice left. It would appear that he, in fact, does not have any juice left.

All year long, Peters has been terrible. Aside from his pick-six against the Lions, Peters has been bad in zone coverage, man-to-man, press, and especially tackling. He has even dropped a few interceptions as well. He just doesn't have it anymore, which is fine. No one expects every single player to be the LeBron James of football and play at an MVP-like level well into their 40s.

I guess the football version of that would be Tom Brady, wouldn't it?

The Raiders have had enough. According to Vic Tafur of The Athletic, something should be done fairly soon.

Peters is one of the many defensive backs to pick No. 24, Charles Woodson's number, and not live up to it. It happens all the time, and frankly, I'm sure fans wish it stopped happening.

If the Raiders were to go ahead and cut Peters, they would save approximately $300 thousand now instead of allowing him to play through his $60 thousand game check, according to Spotrac.

Expect to see the news sometime this week.
