Multiple Baltimore Ravens players committed costly mistakes that resulted in a brutal 27-25 divisional round playoff loss to the Buffalo Bills in January.
During the latest edition of "The Mina Kimes Show featuring Lenny," Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey shared how the defeat affected him during the offseason.
"I think for maybe two weeks straight, me, the weight room guys, some of the equipment guys, we’d literally go into the weight room to work out, an hour goes by, and I don’t know if any of us worked out because we were just talking about, 'What could we have done different? What could we do next year?' It was pretty tough to get over it," Humphrey acknowledged, per Tyler Lauletta of Sports Illustrated. "Not like, 'I’m down, I’m sad.' Just, 'What happened?'"
Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson tossed a first-quarter interception and then committed a fumble that resulted in the Bills scoring a touchdown during the second quarter. Later, Baltimore tight end Mark Andrews lost a fumble in the fourth quarter before he dropped a pass on what should have been a game-tying two-point conversion.
Meanwhile, Humphrey has yet to play in a Super Bowl since the Ravens made him a first-round pick during the 2017 NFL Draft.
"It gets hard to figure out, honestly," Humphrey said about those in the locker room attempting to put such a difficult defeat behind them as they prepare for the upcoming season. "From a fan perspective, it’s like, 'How can these just guys move on?' Still thinking about that loss is not good. Everybody’s got to do something. Everyone’s like, 'Crap, I need to go take a trip.'"
As of Wednesday morning, DraftKings Sportsbook had the Ravens and Bills tied as the betting favorites at +600 odds to win Super Bowl LX. Humphrey will get a good look at the Bills when Baltimore opens the 2025 season with a "Sunday Night Football" matchup against Buffalo on Sept. 7.
