Baltimore Ravens cornerback Marlon Humphrey knows exactly what's going on around the AFC North. The Cincinnati Bengals have yet to sign first-round pick Shemar Stewart to his rookie contract, and Stewart has yet to practice with the team as a result.

Stewart isn't the only unsigned first-round pick in the NFL, but he's been the only one holding out from practicing and every other team in the division has their first-rounder signed after Baltimore inked Malaki Starks to his deal.

Humphrey crafted his words carefully when commending Starks via X/Twitter.

If Stewart wasn't the lone non-practicing first-rounder, this would've been easier for Humphrey to disguise as plain praise for Starks. It's not a given that unsigned draft picks fully participate in workouts and OTAs, as clearly evidenced by Stewart, and Humphrey could just be proud of Starks' decision to practice while negotiating.

That Stewart is now on a rival team (though technically not yet an employee) makes it at the very least suspicious comment, and it's getting noticed around the league including The 33rd Team's Ari Meirov.

Humphrey, 28, is coming off the second All-Pro season of his career after hauling in six interceptions. The former first-round pick is entering his is entering his ninth year with Baltimore. He's played the Bengals 14 times in his career. Patrick Ricard (16) is the only other active Raven with more games played against Cincinnati.

If anyone from that roster would have reason to throw shade toward the Bengals, Humphrey is high on that list. He's experienced several highs and lows while participating in the rivalry, and this is just another way to stir the pot; at least that's what it looks like on the surface.

Stewart's plight to remove default language in his contract may last well into training camp, and the longer it goes, the more chances rival players will have to throw shots at the club.
