After spending the last couple of seasons in the AFC, Marquez Valdes-Scantling is returning to the NFC.

Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reported on Monday that the veteran wide receiver Valdes-Scantling is signing with the New Orleans Saints. The move comes after Valdes-Scantling was recently released by the Buffalo Bills.

Valdes-Scantling, 30, began his NFL career with the Green Bay Packers and then went on to win back-to-back Super Bowls with the Kansas City Chiefs. Known as a deep-ball threat, MVS was released last week by the Bills after they acquired Amari Cooper in a trade. Valdes-Scantling had caught just two passes for 26 yards and zero touchdowns in six games with Buffalo this year.

As for the 2-5 Saints, they are hurting at wide receiver with Chris Olave in concussion protocol and their previous deep-ball threat recently suffering a season-ending injury. That will be where Valdes-Scantling can step in and hopefully continue to make an impact once starting QB Derek Carr returns as well.
