Marshall Football Legend Randy Moss Elected To College Football Hall of Fame

The National Football Foundation (NFF) & College Hall of Fame announced today that Randy Moss, who was a star receiver at Marshall in 1996 and 1997, would be elected to the College Football Hall of Fame as a member of the 2024 class.

Moss was told about his selection during Sunday's edition of Sunday NFL Countdown on ESPN, on which Moss is an analyst. His cohost, former Utah quarterback Alex Smith, was also selected. The full class is expected to be released Monday afternoon.

One of Moss' seasons at Marshall was played in Division I-AA, now known as the FCS. The Herd were Division I-AA National Champions that season. The other was played as a member of the MAC. In his career with the Thundering Herd, Moss caught 174 passes for 3,529 yards with 54 touchdowns. Moss also rushed for a touchdown.

Moss won the Biletnikoff Award and was a unanimous All-American in 1997. He was also MAC MVP and Offensive Player of the Year that season.

The West Virginia native went on to a 14-year career in the NFL, that included six Pro Bowl selections. Moss is Marshall's eighth inductee in the College Football Hall of Fame.
