The Dallas Cowboys added defensive lineman Marshawn Kneeland to the practice report on Thursday due to an injury. It was revealed that Kneeland has a knee injury and was limited in practice.

Marshawn Kneeland has recorded eight tackles, three tackles for loss, and one sack through four games with one start this year. The Cowboys selected Kneeland in the second round (No. 56 overall) in the 2024 NFL Draft, and he recorded 14 tackles and two tackles for loss in 11 games during his rookie season.

Before the start of this season, Kneeland talked about how the game is slowing down for him. “Just being able to come in, obviously understanding the game, and being able to develop and not have to worry about all the things that come with being a rookie,” he said, per Patrik Walker of DallasCowboys.com. “Shoot, just being able to focus on football, and fully focus on football, I think is a huge thing, compared to this time last year.”

Marshawn Kneeland likes being versatile

Kneeland also discussed being versatile in the defense led by defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus. “The more you can do, the better you’re going to be,” Kneeland explained. “I think, obviously, just working on this year, this offseason, I’ve been a lot of getting my knee back from last year, and just being able to be healthy, be able to come off the ball, utilize my hands.”

Kneeland was the only change/addition to the practice report. For the second consecutive day,  OT Tyler Guyton (concussion), OG Tyler Smith (knee), OG Tyler Booker (ankle), WR CeeDee Lamb (ankle), WR KaVontae Turpin (foot), S Malik Hooker (toe), and RB Miles Sanders (knee/ankle) did not practice.

Additionally, CBs Trevon Diggs (knee) and Caelen Carson (knee), WR Jonathan Mingo (knee, and LB Kenneth Murray (knee) were limited in practice. Cornerback DaRon Bland (foot) was the lone full participant for the second straight day.

The Cowboys are getting ready to take on a New York Jets team that is still looking for their first win of the season. Last Sunday night, Dallas took on the Green Bay Packers, and the game ended in a 40-40 tie.
