Marshawn Lynch likely to land broadcasting gig?

NFL TV will potentially look much different in 2022 and beyond with several long-standing broadcasters likely on the move. That will create a void and lead to several network changes and the introduction of new personalities, possibly including Marshawn Lynch.

Andrew Marchand of the New York Post reports that Lynch could team with Tony Gonzalez and land on Amazon’s pregame show.

However, that will ultimately hinge on the decision of Al Michaels, who may depart NBC for Amazon following Super Bowl LVI.

This Michaels deal has been at the 1-yard line for a long time, and Amazon has waited to see if an agreement will finally be pushed across the goal line.

It has put Amazon in a bit of holding pattern in filling out its entire roster with September fast approaching, though it looks as if Marshawn Lynch and Tony Gonzalez will likely be a part of its pregame coverage, according to sources.

It remains possible that ESPN makes a play for Michaels and shakes things up even further. Needless to say, the situation remains fluid and could change at any moment.

Lynch would be an interesting and unique option for Amazon, whether that means getting his own studio show or serving as a pregame analyst. Either way, Lynch’s sense of humor makes him a prime candidate for the job.

On several occasions, Lynch has made waves while appearing on television. He shared a vulgar story during a Fan Controlled Football league broadcast last year, and later dropped an F-bomb during a “ManningCast” appearance. Still, that’s part of his charm.

Seeing Lynch land a broadcast or analyst gig after refusing to speak to reporters for so many years would be ironic, but a good decision for any network nonetheless.
