Matthew Stafford impressed by Rams WRs Robert Woods, Cooper Kupp

Matthew Stafford is officially a member of the Los Angeles Rams, meaning he'll have to start building chemistry with a new group of receivers.

Before the Rams signed DeSean Jackson, Stafford gushed about working with Robert Woods and Cooper Kupp, saying the two are outstanding wide receivers.

"They just do an outstanding job of getting open," Stafford said, according to The Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue. "It's pretty impressive to watch those two guys go. They both do it in their own unique way. They both have an understanding of the game that is pretty impressive — it jumps out on the tape, it jumps out from afar when you're watching TV. And once they get the ball in their hands, they do a good job of running after the catch, which is huge in this league."

Woods has spent the past four years of his career with the Rams after four seasons with the Buffalo Bills. The 28-year-old has blossomed in Los Angeles, recording two seasons of 1,000-plus yards. He almost hit the mark in 2020 too, reeling in 90 passes for 936 yards and six touchdowns.

Kupp has also been with the Rams for four years and has one season of 1,000-plus yards. He, too, almost hit the mark in 2020, catching 92 passes for 974 yards and three touchdowns.

With Stafford seen as an upgrade over Jared Goff, both players could reach their true potential in 2021. Stafford has worked with players like Calvin Johnson, Golden Tate, Marvin Jones and Kenny Golladay, and all of those players blossomed with the Georgia product at quarterback.
