As someone who has covered the Detroit Lions for the last decade and a good part of that coverage being about Matthew Stafford, we're pretty used to Kelly Stafford in Detroit. She has long been someone who has been active on social media and has been very outspoken to the point where she has even had to publicly apologize for things.
When the Lions traded Stafford to the Rams, Kelly began hosting her own podcast called The Morning After. Since then she's gone viral for a million other things from talking about dating Stafford's backup quarterback at Georgia to claiming that Lions fans booed her kids at Ford Field last year.
Now it seems she is sending a bit of a threat the Rams' way amidst trade rumors for Matthew and after the news that Cooper Kupp will be traded.
l love the life that we have built here. With that being said, I love an adventure. I am all for it right now. If you know the Rams decided that they wanted to trade him, or Matthew decided he didn't want to play for the Rams. I'm good. Move my family, yeah, that might be tough. First month, hard. Okay, after that, I like my kids to learn how to be resilient. Yeah, and moving them is not easy, and it'll be hard. But I also have four girls who have four built-in, best friends, so it ain't that difficult.
I value being respected and wanted over convenience. So it would be very convenient to stay right, very easy. But if someone doesn't feel valued, then I'm like, let's go on an adventure. Turns out like, if I have my husband and my kids, I'm good. I don't need anything else again."
Kelly stated that the Staffords would like to stay in Los Angeles, but it's not up to them. She said that her husband wants to win. She also talked about how confusing it is that the Rams are suddenly looking to trade Kupp after what she said was a season in which the Rams were a play away from going to the NFC Championship. She then restated that she is up for an adventure.
There's no telling if the Rams will indeed trade Stafford, but with his wife stating that they're open to an adventure and the unhappiness they have with trading Kupp, it could potentially lead to him requesting that the Rams trade him so that both parties can move on. We'll have to wait and see what happens.
