Maxx Crosby already circling one day of practice

While the games do not matter until September and he has nothing to prove at this stage of his career, Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby is already looking forward to one day of practice.

That day would be Aug. 14, when Crosby and the Raiders hold a joint practice with the San Francisco 49ers at Intermountain Health Performance Center in Henderson.

On a recent episode of his podcast “The Rush with Maxx Crosby,” the star pass rusher pulled no punches about what he was most looking forward to when the two teams share the field.

“The fights, bro. I have a 100 percent fight rate at joint practices, and I’m looking forward to continuing that trend,” Crosby said. “I just know it’s going to happen and I’m not going to try to cause some issues or whatever, I just know eventually it’s going to happen. And I’m here for it. It’s going to be so much fun. Joint practices is a staple, bro. You need to. It’s just a part of the NFL culture.”

It’s clear that last season did nothing to dampen Crosby’s competitive spirit, despite playing through a persisting ankle issue that ultimately ended it early.

By now, though, Crosby knows what to expect, and he appears to be relishing the thought of challenging some of San Francisco’s best.

“You’re going up against the Niners. [Kyle] Shanahan. [Kris] Kocurek. You got some of the best coaches in the league over there and some of the best players. You got [Nick] Bosa, Trent Williams, who I’ll be able to go against, Christian McCaffery, Brock Purdy, a bunch of good ass players,” Crosby continued.

Needless to say, Crosby is going to do his part to ensure he and his team show up and show out when the 49ers come to town.
