Las Vegas Raiders and NFL fans alike have to feel for Maxx Crosby at least a little bit.
Despite consistently ranking among the best pass-rushers in the NFL, his individual success has never seemed to translate to the team. In his seven NFL seasons, Crosby has only received one taste of postseason action (2021). He signed a three-year contract extension in March to cement himself as a core piece of the Raiders for the foreseeable future, but this season has currently felt like more of the same.
During the difficult blowout loss to the Washington Commanders on Sunday, Crosby was seen on the sideline showing visible frustration with his team.
With just over two minutes left in the fourth quarter, Commanders quarterback Marcus Mariota found wide receiver Luke McCaffrey for a 43-yard touchdown to extend the lead even further.
After the play was over, Crosby was the first to call out what he believed to be a blown coverage.

Crosby, who has always prided himself on his relentless effort, expects the same from his team as he would himself. With that said, it is unsurprising that he would be angry after the Raiders defense let go of big play after big play.
“We just didn’t tackle very well,” Crosby said after the game. “We just didn’t do our job.”
Crosby and the defense have a lot of work to do to get themselves back on track, and it starts on Sunday against the Chicago Bears.
