Maxx Crosby Compares Raiders to Tom Brady-Led Patriots

The Las Vegas Raiders have been seeking dramatic improvement in every offseason since the franchise's last Super Bowl appearance during the 2002 NFL season.

One of the major moves that they made on this front recently was selling a minority share of the franchise to legendary New England Patriots and Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady.

Brady, then, was instrumental in the team hiring a tandem of head coach Pete Carroll and general manager John Spytek this offseason. This experienced duo with a winning pedigree is already turning the Raiders' roster around.

To no surprise, Brady has had a bit of say in the matter as well, and the game's greatest player knows quite a bit about building a contender.

Star Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby spoke about this on a recent episode of "Glory Daze" with Johnny Manziel. He even compared the current Las Vegas team to the Tom Brady-led Patriots that won six Super Bowls.

"In talking to Brady, when Brady came into the league, he had his Teddy Bruschi with the linebackers, they were set. You had (Richard) Seymour on the D-Line and (Vince) Wilfork, they were set. You have Rodney Harrison on the back, you got your receiving corps, you got your O-Line that's like this," Crosby said. "If you have leaders across the board in different position groups, you're going to have a chance to win, and that's what I've seen so far (in Las Vegas). ... There's a lot of hope, it's been incredible so far."

This is quite the lofty comparison, but Crosby is not necessarily asserting that the Raiders will rip off consecutive Super Bowls. He is simply pointing out that he has conversed with Brady and Las Vegas is being built in this image.

While Raider Nation is no fan of the Patriots, they certainly revered them as a successful organization throughout their reign in the AFC and the NFL as a whole.

Crosby will look to bounce back from an injury-riddled campaign in 2024. He recorded his lowest sack number, 7.5, since 2020.

He did sign a record-breaking three-year, $106.5 million extension this offseason, so expectations are high once again for the six-year veteran.
