Maxx Crosby goodbye after Raiders trade to Ravens

Maxx Crosby did not read from a script, and that is why his goodbye landed hard in Las Vegas. After reports surfaced that the Raiders agreed to trade him to the Baltimore Ravens, Crosby posted an emotional farewell that mixed gratitude, pain and a promise to keep chasing what never came here: a real title run.

He thanked Raider Nation, traced his seven-year climb and said he will give the Ravens the same thing he gave Las Vegas. He also made one point clear for locals who feel betrayed. Crosby still sees himself as silver and black, even if the next jersey is purple.

A goodbye that sounded like the real Crosby

Crosby opened with love for the fan base and the life he built during his Raiders years. He talked about getting married, becoming a father and growing “as a man” in the spotlight of Raider Nation.

He did not dodge the anger he knows is coming. Crosby said fans have every right to be upset. He framed it as shared frustration, not a feud.

No regrets, even without the finish

Crosby kept returning to the same claim: he emptied the tank. “I gave y’all everything I got,” he said, adding he has “no regrets” about how he played or how he led.

Then he delivered the line that will sting for a long time in Vegas. “I feel like I let y’all down,” he said, tying it to the lack of winning seasons and the absence of a playoff run that lasted.

The trade ends an era, and it starts a rebuild

The reported price shows how loud this move is. The Ravens will send first-round picks in 2026 and 2027 for Crosby, per ESPN’s Adam Schefter and other reports.

For the Raiders, that is not a tweak. It is a pivot. They traded away the player who set the tone on defense, and they did it for future shots at a new core.

Crosby thanked the people in charge, and the people behind the scenes

Crosby avoided blame in his farewell. He thanked owner Mark Davis “first and foremost” and said the organization supported him during rehab early in his career. He also shouted out staffers who mattered to him day to day, from trainers to kitchen workers.

That matters in how this story gets told. Crosby did not torch the place. He tried to leave it with respect.

“Raider for life,” even as he heads east

Crosby leaned into the loyalty language. “I bleed silver and black,” he said. He added that he wants to finish his career in a Raiders jersey when the time comes.

He also tried to reassure locals that Las Vegas stays home base. “Vegas will always be my home,” Crosby said, noting his family is here.

Baltimore gets the havoc, and Crosby gets the window

Crosby said he has already spoken with Ravens leadership, including general manager Eric DeCosta and head coach Jesse Minter. Then he delivered his pledge.

“I’m going there with one purpose,” Crosby said, “and that’s winning a Super Bowl.”

He did not guarantee anything. Instead, he promised effort. Crosby said he will lead by action and put his “heart and soul” into bringing a championship to Baltimore.

What Vegas fans are left with

Raiders fans do not have to pretend this feels good. Crosby was the heartbeat defender, and the trade cuts deep. Two first-round picks can turn into stars, but they cannot replace his edge overnight.

Crosby sounded like a man who wanted it to work here. He also sounded ready to attack the next chapter. Raider Nation heard both in the same breath, and that is why this goodbye hurt.
