Maxx Crosby had one-word reaction to being left off of All-Pro team

Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby had a one-word reaction after being left off the Associated Press All-Pro team: "Wow," he said on his Twitter account.

Crosby didn't make the first or second team. Voters opted for Nick Bosa (49ers), Micah Parsons (Cowboys), Hasson Reddick (Eagles) and Myles Garrett (Browns) instead. The snub raises eyebrows because the fourth-year defensive end deserved the honor.

"Crosby is playing as probably the second-best defensive player in the league," 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said recently.

In 17 games, Crosby led the league in tackles for a loss (22.0), totaled 89 tackles — the most by a DE— tied for eighth in sacks (12.5) and was second in QB pressures (52), all career highs, per Pro Football Reference. He also tied for sixth in forced fumbles (three).

While Crosby's sack number was slightly lower than those selected to the All-Pro team, each benefited from playing with a top-tier defense. Three of the four players who made the All-Pro team played on a unit that ranked in the league's top 10 (Philadelphia, San Francisco and Dallas).

The Raiders were 26th in total defense and 30th in sacks (27). Crosby compiled nearly half of the team's sacks despite being a focal point that drew double teams regularly.

"Maxx was brutally snubbed," said Raiders first-team All-Pro wideout Davante Adams on his Twitter account.

The Raiders' defense struggled throughout the season, which led to Crosby missing the cut.

However, his impact on Las Vegas is monumental and comparable to the best players at his position, regardless of whether he's on the All-Pro team.
