One of the biggest storylines in NFL free agency thus far centered on Maxx Crosby. After a tumultuous end to the season with the Las Vegas Raiders, the five-time Pro Bowl edge rusher was intent on moving on.
Crosby got his wish when the Raiders agreed to a trade with the Baltimore Ravens. In exchange for the 28-year-old star, the Ravens sent two first-round picks to Las Vegas.
Everything blew up after the Ravens made a stunning U-turn on the deal. According to reports, Baltimore nixed the deal due to medical concerns. Crosby reportedly failed his medical, forcing the Ravens to back out of the trade.
Whether he likes it or not, Crosby is now back in Las Vegas. Other teams have been linked to a potential move for the former fifth-round pick. At this point, however, nothing has materialized. It’s possible that the unexpected turn of events in Baltimore, coupled with reports about his failed medical, affected demand for Crosby in the market.
Crosby took to social media on Wednesday night to make an announcement. Just one day after his botched move to Baltimore, the former Eastern Michigan Eagles star announced his return to the Raiders.
“Everything Happens For A Reason. Believe Nothing You Hear & Half Of What You See. Im A Raider. I’m Back. Run That [expletive]. ☠️” Crosby posted on Instagram.
Crosby also appears to have subtly addressed the rumors about his health. While he did not confirm or deny anything, the Raiders defensive end stated that folks should not be too quick to believe everything they hear.
Crosby is still under contract through 2027. He is entering the second season of his three-year, $106.5 million deal. He is expected to earn a base salary of $30 million this coming season.
Crosby had a memorable 2025 campaign. He played 15 games in the regular season, registering 73 combined tackles (45 solo), 28 tackles for loss and 20 quarterback hits. Crosby also had one interception, six passes defended and two forced fumbles.
Based on his announcement here, Crosby will bring back that fire to Las Vegas in 2026.
