Maxx Crosby proves how healthy he is with amazing minicamp play

The Las Vegas Raiders missed Maxx Crosby in the worst way last season.

Crosby was still a productive player last season for the Raiders, leading the team with seven and a half sacks and earning Pro Bowl honors for the fourth straight season. However, he struggled with a persistent ankle injury all season, resulting in the star pass rusher missing games for the first time in his NFL career and ultimately ending his season early. Opting into offseason surgery, some were concerned if Crosby would be one hundred percent healthy this offseason.

Not only has Crosby continuously said so, but he made a play during minicamp that should put an end to any doubt.

Crosby put up the highlight of Raiders minicamp with an incredible interception.

Dropping back into pass coverage, Crosby and fellow edge rusher Malcolm Koonce put together the best play in minicamp. With Koonce tipping a pass, Crosby attempted to catch it before falling down as he missed. In an impressive feat of athleticism, Crosby kicked the ball back up to him before it hit the turf and caught the ball to complete the interception.

The sensational play caught the attention of Crosby’s teammates, who were excited to see the star get back to making plays at an elite level.

“I was right next to him. And, you know what, truthfully, we both knew it was coming,” defensive tackle Adam Butler said, per Raiders team reporter Levi Edwards. “We knew it was coming. … I mean, how many times has he stopped the screen where he’s batted it down, or tipped the ball, or whatever on screenplays. He’s got 100 million of those, and that’s just what he does. I’m glad he finally caught one this time.”

“The crazy thing, if y’all [were] watching individual, we were working on that drill,” edge rusher Tyree Wilson added. “Practice is reality, so when you practice something, he’s always special, he’s always batting it down. And we worked it today, and he had to pick for a touchdown.”

If Crosby repeatedly saying that he has a clean bill of health was not enough to convince people of his status going into the season, making plays like this should be more than enough evidence.
