The Las Vegas Raiders are entering a crucial offseason. They landed one of the rising stars of the coaching scene by hiring Klint Kubiak, and they also got the No. 1 pick and potentially a franchise quarterback with it.
Even so, they might also lose their best player. Maxx Crosby has reportedly let the team know that he wants to leave, and it will have no choice but to find him a new home.
Crosby had been mostly silent about these rumors, but that's no longer the case. While he didn't say much, his last social media post was self-explanatory.
"Stop Waiting…. Dominate TODAY," Crosby wrote on X on Monday.
Crosby is one of the three best pass-rushers in the NFL right now. He's a prime headhunter who can post double digits in sacks year in and year out, and a game-wrecker at the line of scrimmage.
He might be the missing piece for several teams with Super Bowl aspirations, and the Raiders could get a huge haul for his services. He reportedly has one preferred trade destination, but he's also tempted by the idea of playing for the New England Patriots.
Granted, the Raiders would probably love to keep him around to be the anchor of the Fernando Mendoza era, especially with other young studs like Brock Bowers and Ashton Jeanty there.
Then again, keeping him around against his will may not be the best idea, as history has shown how ugly things can get between the team and a star player when they choose that route. Barring a shocking turn of events, Crosby has likely already played his last snap with the Raiders.
