McCaffrey makes history: Key stats from the 49ers' 34-24 Week 9 win vs. the Giants

The San Francisco 49ers improved to 6-3 on the season after a 34-24 Week 9 win over the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Below are several statistics and notes from Sunday's game, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.

  • The San Francisco 49ers improved to 23-21 all-time against the New York Giants.
  • The 49ers have won four of the previous five matchups against the Giants, including each of the previous three matchups.
  • Dating back to the 2021 season, the Niners have won eight consecutive regular-season games against NFC East opponents.
  • Head coach Kyle Shanahan improved to 4-1 against the Giants and 11-7 against the NFC East as head coach of the 49ers.

QB Mac Jones

  • QB Mac Jones completed 19 of his 24 passing atts. for 235 yds. and 2 TDs with a passer rating of 135.2 on the day. Jones' 2 TD passes give him 9 this season and 63 in his career.
  • Jones' passer rating of 135.2 marked his highest single-game passer rating since he registered a 142.1 passer rating vs. Cle. (11/14/21) as a member of the New England Patriots.
  • Jones completed each of his first 14 passing atts. to start the game. His 14-consecutive completions mark the most consecutive completions by a 49ers QB to begin a game since QB Brock Purdy completed his first 13 passing atts. vs. Arz. (10/1/23).
  • Jones' 14-consecutive completions to begin the game also tied HOF QB Steve Young for the 4th-most consecutive completions to begin a game by a 49ers QB since at least 1978, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.
