McCaffrey makes history: Key stats from the 49ers' 34-24 Week 9 win vs. the Giants

The San Francisco 49ers improved to 6-3 on the season after a 34-24 Week 9 win over the New York Giants at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Below are several statistics and notes from Sunday's game, which were provided by the 49ers Communications staff.

With The Win...

The San Francisco 49ers improved to 23-21 all-time against the New York Giants.
The 49ers have won four of the previous five matchups against the Giants, including each of the previous three matchups.
Dating back to the 2021 season, the Niners have won eight consecutive regular-season games against NFC East opponents.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan improved to 4-1 against the Giants and 11-7 against the NFC East as head coach of the 49ers.

QB Mac Jones

QB Mac Jones completed 19 of his 24 passing atts. for 235 yds. and 2 TDs with a passer rating of 135.2 on the day. Jones' 2 TD passes give him 9 this season and 63 in his career.
Jones' passer rating of 135.2 marked his highest single-game passer rating since he registered a 142.1 passer rating vs. Cle. (11/14/21) as a member of the New England Patriots.
Jones completed each of his first 14 passing atts. to start the game. His 14-consecutive completions mark the most consecutive completions by a 49ers QB to begin a game since QB Brock Purdy completed his first 13 passing atts. vs. Arz. (10/1/23).
Jones' 14-consecutive completions to begin the game also tied HOF QB Steve Young for the 4th-most consecutive completions to begin a game by a 49ers QB since at least 1978, according to the Elias Sports Bureau.

Jones' 2 TD passes marked his 4th game this season with 2-or-more TD passes [3 TD passes at NO (9/14/25); 2 TD passes at LAR (10/2/25); 2 TD passes at Hou. (10/26/25)] and the 21st such game of his career.
With 2 TD passes last week at Hou. (10/26/25) and 2 TD passes on the day, Jones has thrown 2-or-more TD passes in consecutive games for the 6th time in his career and for the first time since the 2023 season when he did so as a member of the New England Patriots [2 TD passes vs. Buf. (10/22/23); 2 TD passes at Mia. (10/29/23)].

RB Christian McCaffrey

RB Christian McCaffrey registered 28 carries for 106 yds. and 1 TD on the ground to go along with 5 recepts. for 67 yds. and 1 TD through the air.
With 1 rushing TD and 1 TD recept. on the day, McCaffrey recorded his 16th career game with 1-or-more rushing TDs and 1-or-more TD recepts., which surpasses HOF RB Marshall Faulk for the most such games in NFL history.

He also became the 2nd 49ers player to accomplish the feat, joining RB Roger Craig in 1985.
McCaffrey also registered his 10th career game with 100-or-more rushing yds. and 50-or-more rec. yds. He joins HOF RB Marshall Faulk (15 games) and HOF RB Walter Payton (10 games) as the only players in NFL history to record 10 career games with at least 100 rushing yds. and at least 50 rec. yds.
With 173 yds. from scrimmage, McCaffrey registered his 8th game this season with 100-or-more yds. from scrimmage, which is the most by any player in the NFL. He also registered his 65th career game with 100-or-more yds. from scrimmage and his 28th such game as a member of the 49ers.
