Miami Dolphins' 2025 NFL schedule analysis

The 2025 NFL regular season schedule has been released and per NFL research, Miami has the 12th-easiest schedule with opponents holding a .474 win percentage from last year.

Here’s what stands out about this year’s schedule.

Toughest stretch | Week 9 through Week 11

The Dolphins will have earned their Week 12 bye after consecutive “home” games against the Ravens, Bills and Commanders, three teams with a combined .725 win percentage in 2024.

First up are the AFC North champion Baltimore Ravens featuring running back Derrick Henry and quarterback Lamar Jackson. The teams haven’t met since 2022 when Miami quarterback Tua Tagovailoa threw for a career-high 469 yards and six touchdowns to beat Baltimore 42-38 on the road.

A lot has changed since then, namely Henry, who rushed for 1,921 yards and a league-high 16 touchdowns for the Ravens last season. Jackson also threw for a career-high 4,172 yards to help Baltimore lead the league with 424.9 yards per game.

Next up are the AFC East champion Bills and NFL MVP quarterback Josh Allen. Buffalo has won six straight games against Miami and 13 of their last 14 matchups. For what it’s worth, the Dolphins last two wins against the Bills both came at home.

In Week 11, Miami will "host" the Washington Commanders in Madrid as part of the first-ever NFL game to be played in Spain. The 12-5 Commanders surprised many by advancing to last year’s NFC Championship Game and will look to impress on an international stage.

Easiest stretch | Week 13 through Week 15

After the bye, things get much easier for the Dolphins despite playing two of their next three games on the road. In Week 13, they’ll host the Saints and first-year head coach Kellen Moore. With the sudden retirement of Derek Carr, they could also face rookie quarterback Tyler Shough, the team’s second-round pick in this year’s draft.

New Orleans averaged just 19.9 points on offense last season, tied with the New York Jets for eighth-fewest in the league, and should be no problem for Miami’s fourth-ranked defense at home.

In Week 14 the Dolphins will face the aforementioned Jets, a 5-12 team that said goodbye to Aaron Rodgers in favor of former Steelers quarterback Justin Fields, who was benched in favor of Russell Wilson after six games in 2024.

The Steelers, Miami’s Week 15 opponent, let Fields and Wilson go in the offseason, and are said to have a standing offer for Rodgers to join the team.

Whether he takes the job or not, Pittsburgh seems nothing like the team that went to the playoffs in four of the last five seasons and could already be looking towards 2026 when they meet in early December.

2020 visions | Week 16 vs. Cincinnati Bengals

Cincinnati took quarterback Joe Burrow first overall in the 2020 NFL Draft, four spots ahead of Tagovailoa. He’s missed 15 games with injury since then but he took the Bengals to the Super Bowl in 2021 and led the NFL in passing with 4,918 yards last season.

Tagovailoa has missed 20 games since being drafted and lost his only playoff game. Both have won exactly 38 games in the NFL but have faced each other just once, a 27-15 win for the Bengals in 2022. Dolphins fans hope to see better results in the late-December rematch.
